Special Logistics Group (SLG) - Communication Officer
The Special Logistics Group (SLG) is the operational logistics resource within the Swedish Armed Forces Special Operations Command (FMSF), with tasks in areas such as logistics management, host nation support, supply management, transportation services, and technical services at operational and tactical levels. SLG is also developing capabilities in unmanned systems for FMSF logistics needs. SLG operates across the entire conflict spectrum with both national and international missions alongside other parts of FMSF. SLG has representations in both Örebro and Skövde.

Main Responsibilities
Working as a communication officer at SLG means solving tasks during missions, exercises, and daily operations. The tasks must be solvable across the entire conflict spectrum and will vary in nature. Flexibility, accuracy, analytical skills, and some technical understanding are prerequisites for achieving expected results. We welcome motivated and engaged applicants who want to develop within the communication function.
After completing the selection process, you will initially undergo a training phase for several months before joining one of our operational units as a communication officer. The main tasks include maintaining and operating communication and IT systems, as well as communication planning and participating in the work of other unit functions. Acting as an instructor in communication, IT, and signals protection is also a natural part of your responsibilities.
Qualifications
- completed officer training or specialist officer training
- driver's license B
- experience in the service branch
- Swedish citizenship
Medical Requirements
- no serious allergies
- no illnesses requiring continuous or recurring medication/treatment
- color vision deficiency may be accepted
- acceptable visual acuity, correction allowed
- normal hearing
Meritorious
- GOU at LedSS or FMTS
- driver's license categories BE, C, CE, D, DE
- military driver's license for heavy vehicles
- completed international mission
- experience working with IT systems
- basic understanding of TCP/IP
- good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- good knowledge of MS Office
- signals protection training
- system training on various communication systems

Selection
Those deemed suitable after the application process will be invited to selection tests. The selection tests are divided into two parts and will take place over approximately seven days at the end of March and in April 2026. The first part is a field-based component lasting three days. Those deemed suitable after the first part will be invited to a second part where the personal, psychological, and medical profile will be tested. Information about working hours, travel, and equipment will be provided in connection with any invitation to selection tests.
Other
The position is a military appointment and requires approved officer or specialist officer training. The position is full-time, permanent, with a start date of 2026-08-01 and training start on 2026-08-03. The position involves recurring business trips both domestically and internationally.
Work location Örebro or Skövde.
